Since 2018, Moss & Fawn has been a small, woman-owned baby brand based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We make long-lasting feeding and teething products, and we ship them in plastic-free, paper packaging. No single-use plastic. That has been our standard from the start.

The mailer and padding are recycled paper and designed to be recycled with paper or composted. If you home-compost, you can add the paper mailer and padding to the pile or tuck it into garden soil to break down.

Why does baby gear create so much waste?
Babies outgrow teethers, feeders, and accessories quickly. A lot of feeding products are also wrapped in plastic. We design the Forage Feeder to cover more than one stage, and we ship it without plastic so the unboxing is not another bag in the trash.
Is the Forage Feeder reusable, or is it another short-use baby gadget?
It is reusable. Each Forage Feeder comes with three food-grade silicone tops in different sizes so it can grow with your baby. The nipple is food-grade silicone. Products are tested to CPSIA and FDA standards and are made without BPA, PVC, phthalates, or lead. Clean it before each use with warm soapy water. It is durable on purpose, so you are not replacing a cracked plastic feeder every month.

What is the Feeder Keeper made of? Is linen actually more sustainable?
The strap is 100% linen and machine washable. Linen comes from the flax plant. It is renewable and biodegradable. That is different from petroleum-based synthetic fibers. Tags on the Keeper are recycled paper, printed with vegetable ink in a wind-powered facility. The clip is natural wood.
Can I compost Moss & Fawn packaging in my backyard?
The mailer and padding are biodegradable paper. Many families add them to a home compost pile or garden. Compost rules vary by city, so if you use municipal compost, check whether they take paper mailers. Do not compost the silicone feeder or the linen strap in a backyard bin the same way you would paper.
