Starting Solids: THE FORAGE FEEDER MAKES IT SIMPLE

Most babies are ready to start solids around 6 months. At this stage, your baby’s intestines are mostly developed—making it a good time to bring solids into the mix.

Of course, every baby is unique. Milestones vary from child to child. You and only you know what is best for your baby. When you do feel ready to explore starting solids, look for clues that your child is feeling ready, too.

They may be ready when:

  • They hold their head steady
  • They sit up with minimal support
  • They show interest in your food
  • They are drooling, show signs of pain or swelling in their gums, or seem more fussy than usual (little teeth coming in!)

If you notice your baby is showing these signs, it may be time to start adding solids to the menu! Feeling intimidated? Don’t worry, that’s normal. We created The Forage Feeder to help you safely introduce solids, and we’re here to help you navigate the process.

How Do I Start?

Introduce just one new food at a time. Wait 3-5 days between each new food to watch for reactions like diarrhea, hives difficulty breathing, or vomiting.

Choose one ingredient foods, no sugar or salt. No honey ever (even in baked goods).

The Forage Feeder is perfect for this as it is easy to clean—saving you time and worry over cross-contamination between use!

What foods should we try first?

Make all-natural choices like fruit or vegetables (whole or pureed). For teething babies, frozen fruits and vegetables are a big hit!

We created The Forage Feeder with a sleek and simple design so it’s easy to clean, just hand wash the few simple parts with water and soap or pop it in the dishwasher’s top rack. (Talk about a mommy must-have.)

  1. Safe to use.

The feeder has small holes so only safe, small bits of food can pass through. You can let your babies snack and play while you prep meals or eat food of your own, worry-free.

  1. Quick to prepare.

All you need to do is fill the nipple with the desired food and snap the feeder shut.

  1. Easy for baby.

The round handle is sized for little finger so that babies can teach themselves to self-feed and improve motor skills. Even mealtime is a classroom with The Forage Feeder!
