How we invented the milk pop! From the Original Baby Food Feeder Brand: Moss & Fawn

I’m Sofia Opmanis, founder of Moss & Fawn. In 2018 I started this brand in Salt Lake City, Utah, in a small apartment, I wanted to create baby products that last and grow with your baby instead of landing in the trash after three uses.

The first product was the Forage Feeder the FIRST silicone baby food feeder. Yes, Moss & Fawn is the original silicone Baby Food Feeder and the inventor of the "Milk Pop"! Its companion: a matching Ice Cube Tray for bone broth, breastmilk pops, and frozen fruit. We designed the Forage Feeder, a silicone feeder and a created a sturdy matching ice tray that has a steel frame so that precious liquid gold doesn't spill on the floor (not a feeder with a random tray tacked on later).

Use case one was nights: frozen breast milk or formula pops for teething. Cold, familiar, small enough for those little mouths. Use case two was the next chapter: intro-to-solids, fruits, veggies, bone broth for first tastes. Same handle just the next size nipple, since our products are made to grow with your baby each feeder comes with 3 sizes. 

Three nipple sizes so the same handle grows from early gumming to bigger first foods sized for about 4–6 months, 6–10 months, and 10+ months. The tray cubes are sized for the tops of the feeder. Fill the tray with breast milk, formula, bone broth, puree, or fruit. Freeze. Pop a cube into the Forage Feeder.

We have practiced sustainability since day one. Plastic-free packaging since 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Always plastic-free packaging and mailers, and never single-use plastic. That was the shop from day one, not a later rebrand or an Earth Day special.

We name what we test. Tested to CPSIA and FDA standards and screened for BPA, PVC, phthalates, and lead. Non-toxic food-grade silicone. That is the bar for anything that goes in a baby’s mouth. We also use platinum-cured silicone which is a high-purity, addition-cure elastomer that uses a platinum catalyst during its manufacturing process instead of organic peroxides or tin.

Other marketplaces are full of listings that copy photos, copy phrases like “breast milk popsicle feeder,” and ship from a seller you will never be able to contact. Those listings will show an overseas business address in a language you can not read and a brand name that did not exist last year. If something goes wrong, that storefront can close. The listing can disappear. You are left holding a no-name product.

We don’t run Moss & Fawn that way. The company has a name you can search, and an address you can drive to. We have real customers, and real responsibility under U.S. consumer-product rules. We test to CPSIA and FDA standards because that is what the United States requires and because we care.
